Itʼs often surprising when a local band writes its own material. SWIMFISH is a unique, colorful band featuring high quality, original folk/rock music. With their focus in first class song writing, the instrument line up is classic acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, piano & vocals. Certainly they play some cover tunes, but they are recording artists with an impressive pedigree who have always written their own material first. Band leader, John Nilsen, has sold over one million recordings.

SWIMFISH sounds like no other band. Elements of rock, folk and Americana are woven, spun in different directions, but originality makes them special. The debut CD by SWIMFISH, John Nilsen & SWIMFISH, was played throughout the USA on radio to solid reviews. Founding member of the major rock band, AMERICA, Dan Peek, wrote, “Major kudos on your CD. The music is superb, the lyrics inspired and the production/arranging top notch. The songwriting hangs together and the tracks flow, carving out a groove like a river carves a canyon. You deserve to be heard.”

The Award Winning Music Monday series is curated by Dean Mueller, who was nominated for a 2016 “Back What You Believe In” Muddy Award for his work at Lake Theater & Cafe. The series was also voted “Best Blues Venue” by the Cascade Blues Association in 2016. The music series started in June 2014 and features top national and regional blues, jazz, country, and roots artists. Over 1/2 of all the shows sell out and advance ticket purchase is highly recommended.
